Check marriage filings as historic week of gay and lesbian marriages unfolds in the Sunshine State
An historic wave of new marriage filings in Florida is underway.
The legal ban on same-sex marriages is over, and county circuit court clerks across the state are bracing for a busy week. With a judge's blessing, Miami-Dade became the first county in Florida on Monday to register same-sex marriages, getting a jump on the rest of the state. Some counties, such as Osceola and Monroe, planned on opening hours later at midnight to register at least some early birds.
Here are links to marriage searches for Miami-Dade, Monroe and Osceola. In Monroe and Osceola, the searches include a broader range of mortgages, deeds and other document filings. But searches can be refined by selecting marriages in the document types to be searched.
Miami-Dade and Broward counties are among the Florida counties that offer special searches for marriage licenses. Blog postings on the others are coming soon.
Aside from county marriage searches, this InspectaDate page provides links for county searches on divorces, criminal, traffic records and more.
