Bravo to public library in Newark, Ohio, for offering free Online Dating 101 workshop

 
More public libraries across the nation should do this.

The Licking County Public Library main branch in Newark, Ohio, is hosting a free Online Dating 101 workshop on February 12.

Reports the Newark Advocate:

... Online Dating 101, will feature an overview of available sites and apps, tips for creating an effective profile (hint: include several pictures but avoid mirror selfies) and a photo area for attendees to shoot new profile pictures.

The target age is would-be daters in their 20s and 30s, but the event is open to anyone, said Stephanie Freas, library adult services assistant.

The event is modeled after a similar program at a Columbus-area library. No registration is required.

“A lot of times, we have people that come in and ask how to create a profile, ask about pictures, what to do,” Freas said. “We just thought it would be really good for a lot of our users.”
